Project Details

An ecologically sensitive regional park at the heart of Bidadari Estate

The Bidadari Park was a joint effort by Singapore’s Housing and Development Board (HDB), National Parks Board (NParks), national water agency PUB and National Heritage Board. Special attention was given to integrating green spaces within the estate, building on the abundant existing greenery. Many of the trees in the area have been there for decades, long before the estate was developed.

To fulfil HDB’s vision of developing Bidadari Park as an ecologically sensitive regional park at the heart of Bidadari Estate, the design focuses on the interactions between the urban hardscape and the surrounding greenery. The aim is to realise the first benchmark underground reservoir township, with effective integration into the site context both ecologically and socially. This is achieved through an intensive study of the existing site structure, vegetation, ecology, and heritage, alongside the proposed design schemes.
