Project Details

Creating Safe and Enabling Environments for Health, Independence and Ageing with Dignity

Lentor Health Nursing Home West Coast is a collaborative effort by Urban Redevelopment Authority, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Health Holdings, and National University of Singapore to support innovative, affordable, and quality care models. Its resident-centric approach emphasizes mental wellness, creating intimate and adaptable spaces with pandemic-resilient, prefab modular cabins that accommodate changing needs. By fostering a “Care+ Hub,” the facility offers public spaces like caregivers’ lounges and family pavilions, promoting community support and extending care beyond the nursing home. A fenceless design integrates seamlessly with nearby public areas, enhancing social capital and establishing a wellness-focused community. In addition, dementia-friendly, inclusive spaces offer decentralised activities, therapy gardens, and wayfinding, supporting health, independence, and dignity in a high-rise, therapeutic environment.
