Purposeful Design for Sustainability
The design emphasises high practicality, simplicity, robustness and ease of maintenance which ensures that the building can provide long term serviceability. The design of the maritime building maximises the scenic view of Sentosa with large windows for meeting facilities and semi outdoor spaces for staff training, dining and ceremonial events.
Designed with practicality, durability and ease of maintenance in mind, the building responds sensitively to its coastal location through naturally ventilated corridors, marine-grade materials and strategic orientation that maximises sea views while mitigating wind-driven rain.
Sustainability features include water-efficient fittings and passive design strategies for lighting and ventilation, contributing to its Green Mark Platinum certification.
