Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre

The hawker centre has a unique 3-dimensional facade that resembles the form and weaving of a traditional basket, while providing good natural lighting and protection from the sun and rain. In addition, the hawker centre is also designed with its own multi-storey carpark right above it, helping largely to provide ease and convenience for vehicle owners.

From the onset, the design strategies were carefully crafted with city planners to enable for a seamless entry between the park and hawker centre. The proposal also included creating entry points at both floor levels between the new hawker centre and the existing recreation centre. Additionally, the planning of the building was well thought through, with careful consideration to connect it to the new extended cycling path network around Pasir Ris Town. The enhanced accessibility will enable for cyclists to enter the hawker centre directly, without having to station their bicycles at an alternative venue The seamless integration of the building with its neighbouring vicinity aims to enable for greater connectivity and create pockets of social spaces for the enjoyment of the community, enhancing the vibrancy of Pasir Ris Town.
